The other dvd I ripped in same way to one vob is Rat Race, now audio on this one plays fine on PS3 via tversity (havent bothered to try and play via usb memory stick yet. It like the PS3 (or amp) is having trouble with some parts of the audio. I have put it on a usb memory stick and still same problem. I thought it was an issue using tversity to stream this file, so I copied it to the PS3 via TVersity - same problem.

I have my PS3 hooked up to my Sony STR-DG910 amp via HDMI. Try it at your own risk but I would be happy to get your feedback.I have a problem with the audio on a ripped dvd VOB file I am trying to play. I have tested the script over my entire DVD collection on my harddisk and found no issues with the resulting file structure. If your streamer does not like VOB files you can rename it into MPEG and then its normally recognised. If your DVD still plays you can then delete the VOB-A files to save space. The VTS_yy_ 0.VOB file is the title/chapter menu that is left out.ĭepending on the speed of your harddisk this will take a few minutes but you can watch the progress. The main title is ususally a series of files (normally between 3 and 7) with about 1GB file size and the last one smaller. Repeat this step with other titles and the respective number. In the the end you have one file VTS_04_1.VOB that can be played with most players and streamed with Twonky.

If exist VTS_0%1_0.VOB-A ren VTS_0%1_0.VOB-A VTS_0%1_0.VOBĮcho success: you can now delete all files VTS_0%1*.VOB-AĮcho error: VOB series VTS_0%1_x.vob does not existĮcho warning: only one VOB file of that series exists - nothing to do in C:\Windows\vobcat.cmd (ensure that you do not have a. Open notepad and copy the following command lines into a file vobcat.cmd and save it somewhere where Windows will find executables, e.g. So I have written a short windows script to use the copy /b command to concatenate the files. You can always re-rip this folder structure with tools like DVDShrink and have the VOB files combined into a single one (per title) but I needed an easier way to do this over several movies I had already on my disk. Not so with media streamers like Twonky, Windows Media Player and some others!!! They play happily the individual VOB file but as most DVDs break them into 1GB chunks the home cinema experience stops after 15 minutes or so.

Playing a DVD file structure is simple on a Windows PC as many players support the full DVD format. And I was concerned loosing the other DVD extras like subtitles and multiple audio streams/languages. I was never keen on converting them into any other format as I always wanted from time to time to burn them again onto a DVD. with their AUDIO_TS/VIDEO_TS structure IFO and VOB files.
